Tonight, we lost out on Best New Restaurant at the Community Choice Awards. Not gonna lie, it was a bummer. I usually don’t care about awards or pats on the back or most compliments in general. In fact, I find they can be distracting. But every once in a while, when you’re dangling out on a limb above a pit of fire, some affirmation from the community that you’re on the right track really goes a long way. Just knowing after all the sheer effort and stress that the community you’re trying so badly to help and be a part of wants you back.

But sometimes you eat dirt. At least I’m eating dirt with my best friend.

This piece is a recreation of “The Most Dangerous Animal in the World”, originally a 1963 exhibit at the Bronx Zoo (the actual zoo, not the Yankees). It featured a mirror with text describing the dangers humans pose to life on Earth.

Even though it’s a Tuesday, we’re opening for a special New Year’s Eve dinner service! We’ve been asked dozens of times since May, so now’s your chance — we’ll be offering special butter-aged ribeyes.

Whole ribeye encased in salted butter, aged in the locker for 35-40 days, then sliced and seared in its own butter. There is simply nothing like it, and we are the only restaurant anywhere near the area to offer this.
